"Hotline Bling" is a single by Canadian rapper
Drake, which serves as the lead song from his 4-th studio album Views. While
the single itself is only credited as a bonus music on Views, it is present on
all editions of
the album.
The song written praise and criticism from music reviewers:
praise for its presentation of Drake's emotional side, as well as its
production, and criticism of its lyrical content, and claimed sexism. A
Director X–produced music video for the song was also released, receiving
positive reviews from critics. It subsequently gained popularity on YouTube and
spawned several parodies of it. It has been included on numerous year-end
critics' polls. "Hotline Bling" taked commercial success worldwide,
reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Drake's highest-charting song
at the time in the United States (tying with "Best I Ever Had" in
2009). Hotline Bling also reached number 3 in Canada and the United Kingdom.
