"Écoute"
the song recorded by Romanian recording artist Alexandra Stan from 3-rd album Alesta.
Album was made available for digital download on 9 March 2016 through Victor
Entertainment as a
follow-up to her 2014 album, Unlocked. Stan collaborated
with several record producers on this album, including Andreas Schuller, Thomas
Troelsen, Sebastian Barac and Marcel Botezan. She also took part at a music
camp organized by Marius Moga, where she further worked on material featured on
this album. The songs of Alesta draws influence from ethnic, Eastern and
Western European music, while having a danceable and partying vibe. Most of the
singles are set to uptempo, with Stan pointing out electronic pop, dance and
R&B styles used when producing the album. Lyrically, Alexandra Stan confessed
during an interview with Romanian online magazine Kudika that every recording
"[tells] a different story".
Upon its
release, Alesta debuted and peaked at number 34 on the Japanese Oricon Albums
Chart. Four tracks from the album were released as singles. "We
Wanna", a collaboration with Inna and Daddy Yankee, reached the top 60 in
several countries, while "I Did It, Mama!" became a top ten hit in
Stan's native country, with its video eventually arousing controversy. The
record's last releases, "Balans" and "Écoute", portrayed
featurings with Swedish-Congolese singer Mohombi and Romanian band Havana. To
promote Alesta, Stan embarked on a two-week tour in Japan, while appearing in
many interviews and media coverages there.
