PMR Records. The lead single from their presentation studio collection, Settle (2013), the tune appeared on the UK Singles Chart at number 26 and has topped at number 11 In the United States, "Latch" was a sleeper hit, cresting at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2014.

Initially, Disclosure suspected that "Latch" was "excessively unusual for the radio and not sufficiently clubby for the clubs" in view of its time signature. "It's in 6/8 time — not by any means 4/4, the all the more generally utilized time signature for house music." When first listening to Sam Smith's voice, Guy and Howard thought he was a lady and later were "astonished" that he was most certainly not.

Howard has expressed that Disclosure is "attempting to bring some spirit into the songwriting... utilizing jazz harmonies and fascinating songs as opposed to exhausting, stabby EDM triads."
